Welcome

Welcome to the Free Not Cheap website. This is a space created to support people in following our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ. Our name is inspired by Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s words relating to true grace being costly. Through Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, we are able to be reconciled to the Triune God: Father, Spirit, Son.  Jesus perfectly demonstrates His love for us in suffering crucifixion to save the world. Grace is extremely costly to the giver; Jesus laid down His life for us. Grace is free to the receivers; people are welcome to place their trust in Jesus and receive eternal life as a free gift. Even though grace is received as a free gift, to continue living the same way as before would be to cheapen that freely received grace. The alternative is to carry our crosses for Jesus. As we seek God’s Kingdom, we trust that by grace, Jesus will continue to make us more like Himself. We are thankful for the free gift of salvation in Jesus and we pray that God, by grace,  will empower us all to deny ourselves, carry our crosses and follow Jesus.

If you are a Christian, trusting in Jesus’ death and resurrection for salvation, then be encouraged! What a blessed thing it is to know that you have been forgiven by God! Although being ‘blessed’ in no way guarantees an easy life on earth, we have a sure hope in Jesus for forgiveness and eternal life with Him.

If you’d like to find out more about putting your trust in Jesus, please read the Bible and visit this website http://www.matthiasmedia.com.au/2wtl/2wtlonline.html. It would be a great idea to meet regularly with Christians and become part of a Jesus-centred, Bible teaching, local church.
